snippet: Federal Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) Sand and Gravel Lease Documents Table is a table which is maintained by the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), part of the U.S. Department of the Interior. This table exists to keep all records of Negotiated Non-Competitive Leases or Memorandums of Agreement with BOEM. Section 8 (k) of the OCS Lands Act (OCSLA) as amended by Public Law 103-426 (enacted in 1994) provides BOEM the authority to negotiate an agreement for the use of OCS sand, gravel and shell resources for use in: (1) a project for shore protection, beach restoration, or coastal restoration under taken by a Federal, State, or local government agency; or (2) for use in a construction project funded in whole or part by or authorized by the Federal government. This table is a collection of completed projects and ones that are in progress under BOEM's purview. The intent is to update the dataset when new dredging occurs, in tandem with new or amended leases. Attribution consists of the number of parties, agreement types, hyperlink to the lease document, and the existence of environmental reports related to the project.
